How to add PDFs to PowerPoint?
PowerPoint has long been a go-to tool for effective presentations. It's a versatile platform that allows you to add different content types, including PDFs, to make your presentations engaging and informative.
Adding PDFs to your PowerPoint presentations is beneficial in various reasons.
For example, if you insert detailed reports, research papers, brochures, or graphical content into your presentations, you can keep your audience focused and improve the overall flow of your presentation.
Let's see how to do this using the following steps:
Method 1 - Insert PDF as an object
Step #1 Open your PowerPoint presentation
Open your PowerPoint presentation and choose where you want to insert the PDF. You can start a new presentation or edit an existing one.
Step #2 Select the slide
Go to the specific slide where you want to insert the PDF. Click on that slide to make it active.
Step #3 Click on "Insert"
Click on the “ Insert” tab at the top of the PowerPoint menu.
Step #4 Choose "Object"
Under the "Insert" tab, select "Object" from the dropdown menu. This will open a dialog box.
Step #5 Insert the PDF file
In the dialog box, choose "Create from file" and click "Browse" to locate the PDF file you want to insert.
Once you've selected the PDF file, click "OK."
Now, you will see the PDF embedded within your slide. You can resize and reposition it by clicking and dragging corners.
💡Note: After making adjustments, remember to save your PowerPoint presentation!
Method 2 - Convert PDF to image.
Use a PDF conversion tool or software to convert your PDF document’s pages into image files (e.g., JPG, PNG).
Most PDF readers, like Macro or online converters, offer this feature.
Step #1 Open PowerPoint
Open your PowerPoint presentation where you want to insert the PDF content.
Step #2 Insert image
Go to the slide where you want to place the PDF content. Click on the "Insert" tab in PowerPoint.
Step #3 Choose image
Select "Picture" or "Image" from the options in the Insert tab. This will open a file dialog box.
Step #4 Select PDF images
Locate and select the image files (pages from the PDF) you want to insert into your slide.
You can choose multiple images if needed.
Step #5 Insert images
Click the "Insert" button in the file dialog box. PowerPoint will insert the selected images onto your slide.
You can resize, position, and organize the inserted images on your slide as necessary. You can arrange them to match the layout and design of your presentation.
Note: Remember to have your presentation with the newly inserted images.
Method 3 - Convert PDF to PPT
Another approach to inserting a PDF into a PowerPoint presentation is using third-party conversion software like Adobe Reader.
Here's how you can do it 👇
Step #1 Convert PDF to PPT in Adobe Reader
- Navigate to the Adobe app and convert the PDF to PPT.
- Click the " Select a file " button to locate your PDF, or drag and drop it into the converter.
- Download your fresh PowerPoint presentation.
Step #2 Open PowerPoint
Launch Microsoft PowerPoint and open the presentation where you want to insert the PDF content.
Step #3 Insert the converted PowerPoint file
In PowerPoint, go to the slide where you want to add the PDF content. Navigate to the " Insert " tab.
Step #4 Choose an object
Select " Object " from the " Text " group. This will open an " Insert Object " dialog box.
Step #5 Create from file
In the " Insert Object " dialog box, select the " Create from file " option.
Click the " Browse " button to locate the PowerPoint file you converted from the PDF.
After selecting the file, click " Insert ." This will embed the converted PowerPoint file into your slide.
Note: You can resize, position, and format the embedded PowerPoint file to fit your slide layout and design. Then, save your PowerPoint presentation with the inserted PPT file.
This method allows you to maintain the original formatting and layout of the PDF content within your PowerPoint presentation. It can be beneficial when you need precise control over the appearance and arrangement of the PDF content in your slides.
